Outline (in English)
This class aims at developing students’ basic knowledge of accurately constructing English sentences leading to writing paragraphs and essays in which students develop the foundations of academic writing. Attention will be paid to not merely translating to English, but to developing the awareness and skill of writing in a more English-like way, finding and researching good topics, and content-based writing. Classes are leveled and enrollment held to approximately 20 students in order to maximize teaching effectiveness.
Goals: We focus on "Output English" using "Input English" you have already leaned, and practice expressing yourself (speaking and writing) and your opinions in English.
Work outside of the classroom: Understand each unit's contents, complete homework and prepare for mini presentations.
Grading: Assignment mini presentation 50%
Term exam 50%

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
本授業は、英文をセンテンスレベルで正確に組み立てるための基本的な知識や、自分の意見や考えをまとめてパラグラフを書く基礎力を身につけ、エッセイ・ライティング、アカデミック・ライティングを視野に入れた力へと発展させることを目的とする。伝えたいテーマについて調査し、その結果をパラグラフ構成に則って効果的に書く経験を通して、学生に達成感と自信を与える。授業は習熟度別で少人数で行う。
到達目標Goal
授業では英語で自分の考えや、身の回りのことを話す、書くということから始め、英語のアカデミックライティングまでを学んでいく。”Output English”にフォーカスを置き、いままで学んだ"Input English"を使いながら、話す、書くを磨く。授業中は書く時間やミニプレゼンテーションの時間をとる。このクラスは少人数構成が望ましい。

授業の初めに、前回の授業で提出されたリアクションペーパーや課題などからからいくつか取り上げ、全体に対してフィードバックを行う。
教科書を使いながら英文の書き方を学び、トピックに関する意見や考えを発表する時間、グループディスカッション、ミニプレゼンも行う。オリエンテーションで教科書の使い方、準備すべきことを説明の予定。1つのユニットを大体２回で終わるように授業を行うが、教科書以外の内容もカバーする予定。クラスの中で書いたり、発表する時間には積極的な参加を望む。
COVID−１９による感染状況により授業形態や成績評価の方法が変更する場合は、学習支援システムにて予定を提示するので確認のこと。春学期の授業は，原則としてオンラインで行う。 詳細は学習支援システムで伝達する。
