In the current fast-changing and interconnected world, it is more than ever necessary for university-level students to access, convey and exchange information and ideas in English, which will open the door to globally shared views of the contemporary world. Several activities in this course are designed to serve for these purposes.
Firstly, careful reading of or listening to materials will help students more solid basis of English including richer vocabulary and more accurate understandings of English sentence structures.
Secondly, doing research and shaping ideas on relevant topics will get students more exposed to contemporary global issues.
Thirdly, Students will acquire confidence by actively presenting and exchanging ideas and information in the class meeting.

Before each class meeting, students will be expected to do one or two of the following tasks.
1.Carefully read assigned part of a material.
2.Do research on related topics and collect relevant information.
3.Write your own ideas.
4.Watch and summarize short audio-visual materials and summarize them.
