Outline (in English)
Measurement is the act of converting various quantities (physical, chemical, etc.) related to an object into numerical values using instruments. By performing various analyses on the measured quantities, we can quantify the state of the object. This lecture introduces the fundamentals related to methods, in measurement engineering, that can be applied to numerical data obtained by measuring various physical quantities.
【Goal】
Upon completion of this lecture, students will be able to adequately explain (i) basics related to measurement error, (ii) least squares method, (iii) methods for analyzing the relationship between multiple measurement quantities, (iv) principal component analysis, and (v) signal analysis methods in the frequency domain.
【Learning Activities Outside of Classroom】
The standard time to spend preparing and reviewing this lecture is 4 hours. Students must complete the assigned homework to acquire the knowledge learned in the class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Students are evaluated based on the semester final exam (70%) and the homework assignments (30%). More than 60% will be considered as a passing grade, where the grades (S,A,B,C) are, in principle, determined based on the relative scores of the semester final exam.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
計測とは対象に関するさまざまな量（物理量、化学量など）を、測定器を用いて数値に変換する行為であり、計測した量に様々な分析を施すことで計測対象の状態を定量化することができる。本講義では、各種の物理量を測定して得られた数値データに対して適用可能な、分析法に関する基礎的な事項を中心に学ぶ。
到達目標Goal
以下の事項を理解し，適切に説明をすることができる。
(i)測定誤差に関する基本的な事項、(ii)最小二乗法、(iii)複数の測定量の関係を分析する手法、(iv)主成分分析に関する基本的な事項、(v)周波数領域における信号解析手法

本科目の授業は基本的に教室における対面形式で行う。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
学期末の定期試験の評価(70点)と何回かの宿題として課する演習課題の評価（30点）を合算し、60点以上を合格とする。合格者に対するS～Cの４段階評価は、原則として期末試験の得点に対する相対評価によって判定する。
