Outline (in English)

(Course outline) Chemical engineering has to do with industrial processes in which raw materials are changed or separated into useful products. In this course students will learn the basic principles of chemical engineering, such as material balance, fluid flow, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
(Learning Objectives) Students are expected to formulate and solve material and energy balances on chemical precess systems. Students are also expected to understand the basic theories for transport phenomena, heat conduction and distillation.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter(s) from the text. Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be four hours for a class.
(Grading Criteria /Policies) Final grade will be calculated according to the following process; the mid-term examination (35%) and term-end examination (35%) and the required assignments (30%).
