Outline (in English)

・Course description
Modern chemistry has achieved remarkable progress in the boundary and fusion areas with biology and physics, and has become indispensable in solving environmental and energy problems in applied fields. In this lecture, in a seminar format with a small number of students, we will provide education to understand the academic system that forms the basis of applied chemistry, deepen interest in applied chemistry, and prepare basic academic skills for specialized subjects. In addition, as part of the first-year education, students acquire the active learning methods necessary for university students by repeating many practices such as how to write reports and give presentations.

・Attainment target
Acquire basic knowledge, investigative research skills, and presentation skills necessary for learning higher education.

・Learning outside of class
Read the specified text and materials carefully, research related references, understand the content, and create materials using powerpoint in order to give an accurate presentation on the content you have understood.

・Grading methods and standards
Evaluation will be based on the number of times attended, the content of presentations, and the content of questions and answers.
