Outline (in English)

1.Outline and objectives
①To state the properties of thermodynamics by using the thermodynamic functions.
②To learn various thermodynamic processes by constructing ideal thermodynamic cycles.
③To understand how to state chemical (reaction) equilibria mathematically.

2.Learning Objectives
Students are required to handle thermodynamic problems more theoretically using three basic principles (1-st, 2-nd, and 3-rd laws). Students are also requested to derive various thermodynamic functions to understand the basic concept, through which they can solve realistic engineering problems on chemical thermodynamics. Eventually, students must be able to design and operate chemical apparatus in chemical plans and factories.

3.Learning activities outside of classroom
 All the students must submit their papers on homework problems given in class or through HOPPII system.

4.Grading Criteria /Policy
A grading system depends on infection situation of the COVID-19;
1. when we have the final exam: Final exam 50% + HW problems 50%.
2. when we do NOT have the final exam: HW problems 100%.
