Outline (in English)

(Course outline) Chemical thermodynamics can be defined as the science of energy. This course will introduce students to the basics of chemical thermodynamics, such as the first law of thermodynamics, the second law of thermodynamics, and entropy.
(Learning Objectives) Students are expected to understand the following subjects; the first, the second, and the third laws of thermodynamics, and the definitions of various thermodynamic quantities.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter(s) from the text. Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be four hours for a class.
(Grading Criteria /Policies) Final grade will be calculated according to the following process; the mid-term examination (30%) and term-end examination (40%) and the required assignments (30%).
