Outline (in English)
(Course Outline)An overview of the world related to the research theme. In particular, we will analyze the characteristics and environment of the media and try to approach problematic phenomena through the relationship between sports and the media. To that end, it is necessary to have a deep insight into not only the structure of the media, but also the evaluation of society at that time, management, and the norm and history that governs it.
(Learning Objectives)Among the elements that make up the world of sports, apart from the physical body that surrounds the athlete and the vector drawn by the ball, the elements that determine victory or defeat are scattered within the framework of politics, economy, and society. Around the research topic: How does 'politics' affect hypotheses? How is the "economy" involved? Examine in detail how "society" is connected. Instead of researching each of them individually, try to demonstrate and collect information through people who are deeply involved in these elements, and build the pillars of the thesis composition.
(Learning Activities Outside of Classroom)At least 2 hours each for preparatory study and review, totaling 4 hours. Continuously broaden your horizons as you pursue your research. Considering the setting of the theme, there are many cases where it is difficult to draw conclusions only by verification of a narrow world. When using foreign cases as reference, it is necessary to pay attention to the customs, history, and social conditions of those countries and regions. Naturally, the amount of time spent preparing and reviewing for this class is enormous.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
研究テーマに関する世界を概観する。とりわけメディアの特性や環境を分析し、スポーツとメディアの関係を通じて、問題となる事象へのアプローチを図る。そのためには、メディアの構造だけでなく、その時点での社会の評価、経営、そこを統御する規範や歴史にも深い見識が必要である。
到達目標Goal
スポーツ世界を構成する要素の中で、アスリートの周りに展開する肉体やボールの描くベクトルを除けば、勝敗を規定するの要素は政治、経済、社会の枠組みの中にも点在する。研究テーマの周辺で：「政治」が仮説にどう影響を与えているか。「経済」がどう関わっているか。「社会」がどうつながっているかを詳細に検証すること。それぞれを単体で調べ上げるのではなく、そうした要素に深く関わる人材を通じて、論証を試み、情報を収集して、論文構成の柱を構築すること。

仮説と論考に関わる小さなテーマを複数取りだし、そのつながる世界を多重に抽出する。小さなスケールで初めて、やがて大きなうねりにまとめていく。時間をかけて視野を広げる演習とする。少人数の強みを生かして、研究室をベースに、研究の進捗にあわせて柔軟に対応する。

第1回[対面/face to face]：ガイダンス：研究するスポーツの個性と周辺環境の洗い出し
自ら取り上げたテーマに関するスポーツを軸に、類似スポーツの周辺環境を含めてその特性を調べ上げる。
第2回[対面/face to face]：スポーツの基礎Ⅰ：当該スポーツと政治
テーマに関わる要素の成り立ちや栄枯盛衰に関わった因子を、国内外を問わず広く収集する。
第3回[対面/face to face]：スポーツの基礎Ⅱ：当該スポーツと経済
ターゲットとなる要素の、経済的側面からの評価。それが仮説にどう影響するかを検討する。
第4回[対面/face to face]：スポーツの基礎Ⅲ：当該スポーツと社会
人気、知名度、環境への負荷。社会の中でどのように見られ、取り込まれているのか。ターゲットを取り巻く組織や団体はどのような評価を与えているのか。
第5回[対面/face to face]：メディアの基礎Ⅰ：メディアとスポーツ
ターゲットがメディアの中でどう扱われてきたか。世界の変容とともにその変化を追う。
第6回[対面/face to face]：メディアの基礎Ⅱ：メディア需要の変化とメディアの変身
社会の中のメディアの受け止められ方と、それによって姿を変えた周辺の対応を探る。
第7回[対面/face to face]：メディアの基礎：他のメディアの反応
ターゲットが、他のさまざまなメディアからどのような評価を受けてきたのか。その検証をする。
第8回[対面/face to face]：先行研究調査：研究テーマにかかる先行研究調査
過去から直近までの先行研究の分析と評価。国内外の研究にもしっかりと焦点を当てる。
第9回[対面/face to face]：変化と今Ⅰ：メディア世界
メディアの環境、とりわけ電波メディアとインターネットメディアとの競争の中で何がどう変化しているか。
第10回[対面/face to face]：変化と今Ⅱ：ジェンダーの捉え方
社会が捉えるジェンダーの有り様は、ここ10年のうちに大きな変化を遂げてきた。それがスポーツ世界にはどう反映されているか。
第11回[対面/face to face]：変化と今Ⅲ：スポーツの魅力を何に求める
スポーツ伝達の媒体の多様性は、受け手の嗜好を変え始めているのではないか。スポーツ需要の今を見る。
第12回[対面/face to face]：社会の声を聞くⅠ
仮説検証のための調査への準備。質問の方向と狙いの検討。
第13回[対面/face to face]：社会の声を聞くⅡ
調査項目の抽出と決定。
第14回[対面/face to face]：社会の声を聞くⅢ
調査方法、そのための手続き確認。
授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
準備学習、復習に少なくともそれぞれ2時間、合計4時間は必要。研究を遂行する上で、間断なく視野を広げること。テーマの設定を考慮した場合、狭い世界の検証だけで、結論を導くことは困難なケースが少なくない。外国の事例を参考に取り上げる際には、そうした国や地域の習慣、歴史、社会情勢などにも気を配る必要がある。この授業のためにかける予習・復習時間は当然、かなり膨大なものになる。
