Outline (in English)
The aim of this lecture is to learn high frequency transistors which have been widely used in microwave or millimeter wave communication systems. The transistor's performances are strongly connected to physical properties of the used semiconductor materials; hence, the semiconductor physic and epitaxial growth are picked up on the lecture. The semiconductor materials targeted in this lecture are mainly compound semiconductors such as GaAs, InP, and GaN.

Understand high-frequency devices and related technologies that mainly use compound semiconductor materials. Lectures will focus on increasing the frequency of transistors by improving the electronic properties of semiconductors and devising structures. The latest high-frequency device application systems will also be briefly touched upon. Relearn from the basics of semiconductors and acquire a wide range of high-frequency related technologies suitable for graduate students. Lectures will proceed with PowerPoint materials in line with the lesson plan. Since lecture materials with explanations will be uploaded to the learning support system, each student will print them out and participate in the lectures. The document is password protected. Students must apply in advance by e-mail to Mishima and obtain a password. For details, refer to the learning support system.
