Outline (in English)

< Course outline >
The purpose of this course is to provide the theories of radiation from various antennas and propagation through dielectric waveguides.
< Learning objectives >
By the end of the course, students are expected to acquire the following skills:
- Understanding of various functional devices in optical communications
- Knowledge of optical communication devices, including the multiplexer, switch, polarization rotator, and wavelength filter
< Learning activities outside of classroom >
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content. Moreover, additional work is expected in case the report is assigned as homework.
< Grading Criteria >
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Term-end oral examination: 50%、in class contribution: 50%.
