Outline (in English)

This class addresses the enlargement of "Virtual World," as one of the essential issues of our modern society. By the end of the course, students understand and should be able to explain a set of its key concepts: (1) the virtuality vs. the reality," (2) the issue of "self and identity" within cyber spaces, and (3) how to cultivate this society which integrates real world and virtual worlds.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Final grade will be decided based on (1) final report/exam (50%) and (2) short reports and the quality of the student’s in-class contribution (50%).
