Outline (in English)

This lecture provides knowledge of "How to make" and "How to read" corporate financial statements. In order to learn how to prepare financial statements, it is necessary to learn the realities of transactions, learn techniques of bookkeeping, and learn basic principles and thought methods concerning accounting procedures. On the other hand, in order to learn how to read, it is necessary to learn the traditional method of financial statement analysis and further to acquire and apply basic knowledge of finance necessary for evaluating corporate value.
In this lecture, students study the most fundamental elements for understanding such financial statements, "bookkeeping" "accounting principle and accounting principle" "financial statement analysis" and "corporate finance necessary for accounting practice". It explains mutual relations among those elements and aims to comprehensively understand modern accounting practices.

The goals of this course are the following four points. (1) Acquire bookkeeping skills and basic vocabulary (concepts) in accounting, consider how economic activities can be expressed in terms of accounting, and create appropriate financial statements using these skills and vocabulary (2) Acquire the ability to understand the actual state of corporate activities using financial statement analysis techniques and knowledge of finance, using financial statements and various types of IR information published by the company.

Securities reports and IR materials are used as supplementary teaching materials in class. Each student should download these from the company's website. Details on how to obtain them will be explained in class. The standard time for preparation and review for this class is 2 hours each.

Grade evaluation is based on the following four points (weights are in parentheses).
① Attendance at face-to-face classes (10%)
(2) Speech during face-to-face classes (20%)
③ Confirmation test for each class (40%)
④Description status in the questionnaire for each class (30%)
