Outline (in English)
Statistical data analysis is an important skill in any field. In this course we learn the basic theory and empirical methods for analysing different types of data (cross-sectional, panel, time series, spatial and textual data). We will also acquire practical skills by performing real data analysis using the free statistical software R.
The main aims of the course are: to learn the theory of statistical data analysis; to learn how to use the statistical software R and to perform actual data analysis; and to be able to interpret and explain the results of the analysis to others.
You will be required to submit reports on the exercises. The standard preparation and revision time for this course is 2 hours each.
Grades will be based 50% on the exercises and 50% on the final reports.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
統計データ分析は、分野を問わず重要なスキルです。本講義では、経済学や経営学を含む社会科学で扱うさまざまな種類のデータ（横断面・パネル・時系列・空間・テキストデータ）の分析について、基本理論と実証手法を学びます。また、フリーの統計ソフトRを利用して実際のデータ分析を行うことで、実践力を身につけます。

・分析結果を解釈し、他の人に説明できる。
