Outline (in English)

・Traditional micro-economics has emphasized the role of firms as players of markets. But it did not fully study non-market transactions such as those within firms and between firms. Such a situation has changed greatly, however, since the advent of "organizational economics," whose basics are the topic of this course.
・Students will understand human behaviors and decision-making within an organization, and the influence of environmental or institutional factors. Furthermore, they can think of how to improve the present situation.
・Students are expected to read the course handouts and reference materials before the class, and to submit occasional assignments diligently. The standard time for those activities per class will be more than 4 hours.
・The final grade depends on the total points of the assignments.
