Outline (in English)

【Course outline】【到達目標（Learning Objectives）】
In this class, we will read the basic literature on news frame theory. The goal of the class is to provide students with the knowledge to develop news frame theory into a review of prior research and methodology for their own dissertations. The class will be conducted in the form of exercises, with students acting as reporters for selected important chapters in the basic literature on newsframes.

【Learning Objectives】
At the end of the course, students will be asked to write a paper in which they discuss their own selection of literature that can be developed into a dissertation.


【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students are required to have read the basic literature for each session prior to the lecture.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Report in class (50%)
As a reporter, the student is able to give a summary report on the literature for each session. When not a reporter, the student should be able to participate in discussions appropriately.
Final paper (50%)
Demonstrate an appropriate understanding of the newsframe literature selected by the student and the prospect of developing this understanding into a dissertation.
