授業の概要と目的(何を学ぶか)Outline and objectives
In this course, the students will examine the various elements of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as education for sustainable development (ESD). The role of various stakeholders including governments, international organizations, civil society, the private sector, and the academic community in the implementation of SDGs will be analyzed with a view to strengthening partnerships among them to accelerate SDGs implementation. The students will also explore how they can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
到達目標Goal
The students will deepen their understanding of the 2030 Agenda and SDGs and key issues related to its implementation. They will examine how they can participate towards the achievement of SDGs in concrete terms and will take actions accordingly. Through presentations and discussion in English, the students will also improve their English language proficiency thereby enhancing dialogue and action at the global level in SDGs implementation.

The course offers a blend of theory and practice on issues related to the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. Classes will focus on analysis of different aspects of SDGs as well as implementation issues and role of different actors through presentation and discussion. The course will be conducted in English considering that its proficiency is required to study SDG-related materials produced by the UN and other countries and international organizations.
