Outline (in English)

(1) Course Outline
This is an introductory course in cultural psychology. By being introduced to the theories and empirical findings in the field, students learn how culture shapes psychological processes of people.
(2) Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, students are expected to understand (a) how cultural settings shape people’s emotion, cognition, motivation, and relationships, and (b) what adjustment and psychological well-being mean to people who reside in culturally different societies from their own as well as in multicultural societies.
(3) Learning Activities Outside of Classroom
Students will be expected to spend 4 hours to understand the course content (2 hours each for before/after class meeting). Besides, students will be expected to spend their daily lives having course topics in the back of their mind.
(4) Grading Criteria/Policy
Final grade will be decided based on the term-end examination (100%).
