Outline (in English)

In this course, we will consider the state of working people and human resource management from the perspective of industrial and organizational psychology. For the past few years, in the first few sessions of the course, each student prepared materials on a pre-designated theme (e.g., one-day internship) and had a group discussion to deepen their understanding of the theme. In the latter half of the course, students made proposals on themes presented by companies.
There were two objectives of this course.
(1) To understand the basic concepts of industrial/organizational psychology, and to be able to propose solutions to the issues presented by companies.
(2) To be able to collect necessary information and data to solve problems, and to be able to logically derive solutions.
(3) To acquire the communication skills necessary for group work
Students are expected to collect and organize information on the assigned topic by themselves as necessary. During the seminar time, students will discuss and organize their opinions with other members. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
The criteria for grading are as follows. Active involvement during resume creation, discussion, and survey implementation: 60%. Preparation and reporting of presentation materials: 40%.
