Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The aim of this course is to learn the basics of business knowledge and explore the background of English business styles, which are becoming the international standard.
How many people understood when Steve Jobs said, "Apple tries to be at the intersection of technology and the liberal arts"? The Japanese translation has been mistranslated. And what is the point of using two similar meaning verbs in an English contract? This is the point of understanding in the original English text.
In the U.S., there is a new corporate system called Benefit Corporation, which is a private company that creates public benefit in the environmental and social fields. These companies tend to try to synchronize such external roles with employees' intrinsic motivational, Drive and Caring concepts.
This course is designed to provide a three-dimensional understanding of the international macroeconomic situation surrounding corporations as well as the human condition, with reference to the original English sources.
(Learning Objectives)
Students are expected to master the concepts and background necessary for business with English, and to understand concepts such as Motivation 3.0, which is the basis of career design. We hope that this will be helpful for you to understand the concept of "Capable Communication" and "Management of Lifelong Learning and Career Development".
(Method and Learning activities outside of classroom)
The materials with sources and detailed explanations will be distributed in he "Resources" section of the Learning Support System each time. The lecture will use these materials to explain the main points of the course.
After the classroom lecture, please read through the materials again while reading aloud and submit a Reaction Paper (hereinafter referred to as "RP") (using the "Test/Questionnaire" in the Learning Support System).
You will see in the first and second lectures why it is important to read aloud while reading with your eyes.
If you cannot attend the lecture, please read the materials on demand and submit the RP. Feedback will be given mainly at the beginning of the next class.
Translated words that seem to be technical terms in Japanese often turn out to be everyday terms in the original language. You should always ask yourself, "Is there any other meaning? Why? What if? " The standard preparation and review time for the class is 4 hours.
