Outline (in English)
（Course outline）
Achieving the effective service to users requires careful planning from the point of basic design before the library is opened. I want to derive an index of library services from library statistics, consider the characteristics of users to be serviced, and consider a library image that is appropriate for the region and organization (school, university, company, etc.).
This section will also discuss various issues related to library financial management and personnel management, and consider the effects of PFI（Private Finance Initiative）, the designated manager system, and the issue of private vitality on library management in the future.
（Learning Objectives）
・ Students can explain the management of the public library.
・ Students can explain how to manage new public institutions such as PFI and designated manager system.
・ Students can be interested in articles about the operation of public libraries in newspapers and magazines.
（Learning activities outside of classroom）
Since the lecture will be given according to the chapter of the textbook, please read the relevant part of the textbook in advance before the lecture. The standard preparation and review time for this lecture is 2 hours each.

児童の発達状況と読書の役割を理解し、適切なサービスを実践する能力を習得する。
到達目標Goal
児童の発達状況と読書の役割を理解し、適切なサービスを実践する能力を習得する。絵本等の資料を使った読み聞かせを実践し、児童と本を結びつける手法も獲得する。また、学校との連携など、児童を取り巻く読書環境についても学ぶ。
Students learn about child's capability and importance of reading at their age.
They practice reading children's book and learn how to make children's environment comfortable for their reading.

児童（乳幼児からヤングアダルトまで）を対象に、発達と学習における読書の役割、年齢層別サービス、絵本・物語等の資料、読み聞かせ、学校との協力等について解説し、必要に応じて演習を行う。
毎回、学生によるその日のテーマに関する発表や意見の提出を行い、それについて授業中にコメント、アドバイスを行う。良いコメントを紹介し、さらなる議論に活かす。

現場のリサーチや、読み聞かせの実践を通して、実情が実感できたという感想が多いので、学生による体験を積極的に取り入れていく。
