Outline (in English)

With the increasing commercialization of sports, both "marketing through sports" and "marketing of sports" have been seen in the Japanese sports industry.
In this lecture, students will learn about the ideal form of sports marketing that takes into consideration the cultural and public nature of sports from the standpoint of wishing for the desirable development of sports. While systematically covering major theories and areas in the field of sports marketing, this course aims to deepen students' understanding of various marketing practices in professional sports organizations and sports companies, as well as the theories underlying these practices.

The objectives of this course are to deepen students' understanding of the major theories in the field of sports marketing and the actual business practices related to those theories, and to develop the ability to consider and discuss various issues in the field of sports marketing.

The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
Students are expected to read the relevant sections of the textbook and reference books in advance.

The evaluation will be based on the reaction paper and confirmation test required in class (60%), report (10%), and final exam (30%).
