Outline (in English)

This course introduces the basic knowledge on the history of Okinawa after the annexation to modern Japan in 1879, and the ways to grasp and consider some problems caused in the international relations of Asia-Pacific region, to students taking this course. At the end of the course, students are expected to research and discuss some issues for their own interests. Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Study time for students taking this course will be more than two hours for a class. The overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end research report: 40%、Short presentation for the research report: 20%、comments to fill in every class: 40%
