Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
"Introductory Biology" is a course designed for cultural students who are either new to biology or wish to relearn the basics.
The course aims to deepen students' understanding of biology not only by learning it, but also by connecting it. The spring semester "Introductory Biology A" focuses on universality. The course will focus on universality, and will explain the characteristics of all living organisms and the mechanisms that give rise to diversity, starting from the basics.
【Learning Objectives】
Can find background information on the latest news in biology on his/her own.
To be able to explain in writing what they have understood in the lectures.
Understand and explain the basic principles of biological phenomena.
Understand biology textbooks for beginners on their own.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
You will need to research basic matters on your own so that you can summarize the lecture content in your notes and explain it in your own words.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grades will be based on two report assignments (40% each) and a reaction paper (20%).
