Outline (in English)

《Course outline》
Students study modern political philosophy (normative political theory) in this course. It aims to construct a conception of a just society by examining values or ideals related to policies, institutions, and practices. These values or ideals include liberty, equality, fairness, etc. In the Spring semester, we discuss various conceptions of a just society, such as utilitarianism, libertarianism, and liberal egalitarianism. After learning and examining them, students can construct their conception of a just society, thereby critically evaluating our society's policies, institutions, and practices.

《Learning objectives》
The goals of this course are the followings:
-1. To understand and evaluate various conceptions of a just society.
-2. To evaluate our society`s policies, institutions, and practices critically.
-3. To construct your own conception of a just society.
