Outline (in English)

This course introduces the fundamentals of development anthropology, which seeks to apply anthropological perspectives to the multidisciplinary field of development studies. The aims of the course are to provide a basic knowledge of development anthropology and to understand the impact of development on local culture, environment and society. By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of global issues and their own opinions on the sustainable coexistence of development and local societies, cultures and environments. Students are expected to spend four hours before/after each class meeting to understand the course content. Grading will be based on the end of term report (40%) and class participation (60%).
