Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
In this course, students will learn the basic skills necessary for university study, such as how to research literature and write reports and papers.
(Learning Objectives)
The goals of this class are for students to be able to explain their opinions rationally and to understand how to research literature and write reports and papers.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before each class meeting, students in charge of reporting will be expected to write an essay on newspaper article. After the class meeting, students in charge of responding will be expected to write an essay on the reporting essay. Other students will research the literature on the reporting essay and come up with their own opinions after each class meeting. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content including writing short essays on the content of each class.
(Grading Criteria /Policies)
Final Grade will be decided based on assigned essays (80%) and contribution in class discussion (20%).
