Outline (in English)

Outline and objectives
To learn empirical research methods and analysis methods regarding the acquisition data of learners' own English proficiency, while aiming to effectively acquire English, based mainly on the knowledge of cognitive psycholinguistics and linguistic science,
Goal
(1) To acquire the ability to accurately understand, summarize, examine and analyze original texts written in English on linguistics and second language acquisition.
(2) To acquire the ability to explain one's opinions and thoughts to others in English in an easy-to-understand manner based on evidence based on previous research and survey results.
(3) All seminar students aim to achieve a TOEIC® score of 800 by the end of the third year and a TOEIC® score of 900 by the end of the fourth year.
(4) The goal is to master the basics of empirical research methods based on statistical processing by the end of the third year.
Work to be done outside of a class meeting
(1) To read carefully research papers, original books, publications, books, etc., and summarize them in presentation handouts, and present them.
(2) To acquire 90% or more of Core1900 through task learning.
(3) To study the TOEIC® problem collection and present the results in English.
(4) To learn the basics of statistical processing methods based on empirical research methods.
(5) Extensive reading of Phoenix from the Flames and preparation of the presentation manuscript. Standard time for class preparation and review is 4 hours each.
