Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The course is an intensive workshop that aims to provide students with a solid understanding of the study of international relations with a particular focus on international security issues. Distinct from a lecture-based course, this class requires students to actively engage in collaborative work, discussion, and presentation.

【Learning Objectives】
Through detailing the cases, students are expected to learn why and how a particular political phenomenon occurs and to bring that knowledge to create generalized arguments. During the course, students also learn how to test those arguments through data analysis.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be roughly four hours for a class

【Grading Criteria】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
・In-class presentation and contribution: 60%
・Term-end report: 40%
(For a forth-year student, a grade will be decided based on a term-end report (100%))
