Outline (in English)

21st century global economy is facing fundamental issues of spreading inequality, poverty, population expansion and environmental destruction. Innovations that allows more efficent allocations of resources and distributions of wealth are sought after. This lecture outlines the historical processe these problems of global economy was formed and surveys the essential analytical frameworks in economic history. Following Part A, Part B will deal with 19-21th centuries. 
Grading will be decided by Term-end paper and exam 50%, and evaluation of the short reports/tests assigned after lectures via Hoppii system 50%.
