Outline (in English)

The course is separated in to two parts. The first part of the course introduces the participants to the understanding of historical development of the economic systems setting 'environment, settlement, labour and power' as the key themes. How people lived, worked and governed are the essential factors for the economy. The course connects these relatable factors with the historical development of economic, social and political systems.
The second part of this course focuses on the industrial development. Here, the historical development of textile industry is surveyed from a long-term and global perspective.
