Outline (in English)
This course introduces students to the basic concepts of strategic management from economics perspectives. The rigorous framework of economics helps students to understand the interactions among firms in the increasingly complex business environment alongside globalization. This course will focus on, but not limited to, the topics as follows: competitor and competition, value creation, industry analysis: five-force analysis, competitive advantage, vertical boundaries of the firm: vertical integration, horizontal boundaries of the firm: diversification, globalization, competitive strategy. The course also introduces real-world examples for students’ easy understanding of each topics.
The goal of this course is understanding, based on the economic theory, the conceptual framework of business strategy, competitive advantage, the logic behind various corporate strategy (eg. vertical integration, diversification, internationalization, and so on) and the game theoretic analysis of competitive strategy, based on the economic theory.
Students will be expected to thoroughly prepare each class meeting using course materials which provided through HOPPII (about two hours required), and, after each class meeting, to complete a homework assignment through HOPPII within a week (about two hours required).
Students are also expected to have comprehension of introductory microeconomics and game theory, while we will briefly review them within the course.
The grade will be based on the final exam (50-80%) and the homework (20-50%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
企業活動のグローバル化に伴い，企業を取り巻く経営環境が複雑化し，企業経営の現場においても自社及びライバルの経営戦略とその影響をより正しく理解することの必要性が高まっている。本講義では経営学，特に経営戦略の基礎的及び発展的な内容について，経済学的な考え方をベースに学習する。授業形態については対面を基本とするが，各回の内容や進捗状況を踏まえてオンラインで実施する場合もあり得る（半期それぞれ最大7回，必ず7回オンラインになるわけではありません）。オンラインで実施する場合には学習支援システムを通じて連絡する。
到達目標Goal
事業戦略の基礎（外部要因・内部要因の分析），競争優位の基本戦略（コスト優位・差別化優位），企業戦略の基礎（垂直統合・多角化）に加えて経営戦略のゲーム理論的アプローチについて，経済学的な考え方をベースとしたロジックを理解する。また，そのための基礎知識となるミクロ経済分析のツールについても復習する。

学生は各講義前に講義資料を授業支援システムよりDLして予習（2時間程度），講義後には「学習支援システム」を使って復習（2時間程度）することが必要である。加えて，講義の中で簡単に説明をするが，ミクロ経済学の基礎について復習しておくことが望まれる。
