Outline (in English)

【Outline and objectives】
While reviewing what students have learned in the first year, they will further develop and practice German expressions and improve their operational skills.
Students will also deepen their understanding of the culture and society of German-speaking countries, and develop the ability to actively appreciate the diversity of language and culture.
【Learning Objectives】
Students will be able to understand commonly used sentences and expressions and be able to explain and communicate in simple language when traveling in German-speaking countries, as well as in everyday life such as basic personal information, shopping, neighborhood, work, etc.
Students will gain various insights into the characteristics of the culture and society of German-speaking countries and develop the ability to understand different values.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The students will learn the meanings and pronunciations of important vocabulary used in each topic using a vocabulary learning application.
The review assignments will be given almost every class, so please be conscious of the importance of the review assignments in order to consolidate what you have learned.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is approximately 2 hours each.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
A test (hearing and written) will be administered after each topic is completed. An oral exam will be given at the end of the term.
Grading will be based on the degree of completion of homework and in-class assignments (30%), in-class written test (35%), and oral exam (35%), and students will be graded comprehensively, passing the course if they achieve 60% or more of the total.
Students will not be graded if absences without justifiable reason exceed 30% of the total number of absences.
