Outline (in English)
This course focuses on developing students' communication skills in English through carefully guided activities emphasizing the skills of listening, speaking, and writing, as well as critical thinking. Students will watch and listen to some videos at natural speed in order to get accustomed to phonological changes, rhythms, and the pitch and intonation of natural spoken English. The main goal of the course is to enable students to advance to higher levels of listening comprehension and communicative competence.

This course focuses on developing students' communication skills in English through carefully guided activities emphasizing the skills of listening, speaking, and writing, as well as critical thinking. Students will watch and listen to some videos at natural speed in order to get accustomed to phonological changes, rhythms, and the pitch and intonation of natural spoken English. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
•pick out the main ideas, key details and inferred meanings from natural English
•identify basic English sentence patterns
•write grammatically-correct sentences using basic English sentence patterns
•improve scores in TOEIC Part1 to Part4
•raise practical delivery skills

This course combines listening with the expression of opinions through speaking and writing in each class. Students will practice sharing and reporting information, clarifying and explaining, and constructing simple arguments to express their opinions on controversial topics. Students will work on a variety of topics according to the textbook.

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
Participation: 25%, homework assignments & projects: 50%, final project: 25%.
There will be no tests: your grade will depend on your weekly work in class, and all the projects and presentations we will work on.
Please note that you will not achieve a passing grade for attendance only: you will need to submit all assignments to pass.
