Outline (in English)
【Course outline】 This class aims to improve reading and listening skills of learners, providing phonetics materials through English songs and various exercises, giving a fascinating insight into a different culture.
【Learning Objectives】 The view of this class it to improve English proficiency, mainly listening skill of students, along with improving reading skills and critical thinking.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】 Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter from the text.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】 The final grade in the class will be decided based on the following :
Term-end examination: 50%、Performance and Contribution in class:50%

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
ポップスのヒット曲を聴きながら英語特有の音声変化やリズムに慣れ親しみ、英語の総合的な力を向上させる。TOEIC形式のリスニング問題にも慣れ、スコアアップを目指すとともに、実社会で役立つ英語表現を身につけることを目的とする。
到達目標Goal
洋楽を通して、英語特有の音の脱落、連結、同化、弱化などの音声変化の特徴を知り、音声変化のポイントを体系的に習得する。TOEIC形式の問題演習にも慣れ、総合的な英語の運用力を高める。

洋楽を通して、音の連結や同化、脱落など様々な音声変化のポイントを体系的に習得する。歌詞を中心に多彩な演習問題を行い、毎回平行して実践的なTOEIC対策も進める。さらに異文化トピックを扱った英文に触れリスニング、ボキャブラリーの増強を目指す。自習用のCD付属のテキストを用いるので、大いに活用されたい。リアクションペーパーや課題等については、主に翌週の授業内でフィードバックや正解の提示、解説を行う。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
平常点(50%)と学期末試験(50%)をあわせて総合評価。
平常点（授業への真摯な取り組み、貢献度）を重視。
授業回数の3分の1以上欠席した場合、学期末試験の受験資格を失います。

ポップスを通して英語の自然なリズムを習得し、楽しみながらリスニング力の向上を図りましょう。洋楽が好きな人も普段聞かない人も、英語の世界や音楽で新しい発見が出来ることと期待します。

この授業はオンラインではなく、教室での対面実施になります。
