Outline (in English)
Students can learn basic four English skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Especially students will be able to communicate with others through writing and listening practice. Students can also challenge difficult tasks in this class.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
履修学生は、英語の4技能に関する基礎力を習得し、応用することができることを目的とする。題材として取り扱う貿易英語やメディア関連の英語についても学ぶ。特に、作文と聴解を含む相互意思疎通能力の向上に重点を置いて学習する。難易度の高い課題に取り組むことができる。春学期、最初の数回の授業は、各学生の学習態度や習熟度を確認するため、予め与えられた課題を解く方式で授業を進める。
The purpose is to be able to learn and apply the basic four skills of English to everyday life. To learn trade-term English and media-related English is also handled. In particular, we will learn with emphasis on improving interaction skills, including composition and listening. You can also work on difficult tasks. In the first few classes in the spring semester, the classes will be advanced in a way that solves certain given tasks in advance, to check the learning attitudes and proficiency of each student.

（聴解）米国の4大テレビ・ネットワークで放映されている番組レベルの速い英語につき、基礎的な部分は聴き取れて、論旨を論理的に理解できることを目標とする。（作文力）政治、経済、社会問題、文化（歴史、料理など）各種幅広い題材に関する読解力をベースとして、これらに対して自分の意見を英語で書き、述べられることも目標とする。
The hearing goal is to be able to hear the basic part and logically understand the basic part of the fast American English language aired on the past four major television networks in the United States, through free licensed YouTube. Politics, economics, social issues, culture (history, cooking, etc.) are handled. Based on readings and comprehensions on various types of subjects, its goal is to write and express their opinions freely in English.

読解においては、TOEICの長文読解問題よりも難易度の高い様々な例題を取り上げる。難解な構文の学術誌なども取り上げる。また、それらの英文について自分の意見を文章で書く作文力を養う。聴解については、教師が短く教材用に編集したDVDやテキストブックCDなどを使用する。最初の数回の授業は、各学生の習熟度を確認するため、予め与えられた課題を解く方式で授業を進める。課題に対する解答の開示は、原則、翌週の授業内で行う。より効果的な授業運営のために、ZOOMによるリアルタイム（ライブ）での授業を行う場合がある（事前にアナウンスを行う）ので、ZOOMソフトウエアを予めインストールしておくこと。
In reading comprehension, we will focus on various examples that are more difficult than the TOEIC long reading comprehension problems. It also features English academic magazines. You can also develop composition skills where you write your own opinions in English. For hearing, we use DVDs and textbook CDs edited by the teacher. In the first few classes, the classes will be conducted in a way that solves the issues given in advance to check and confirm the proficiency of each student. In principle, the answers to those challenges will be discussesd and disclosed in the following week. Please install ZOOM software in advance.

業界に関する論文読解など、前の週までに明確な指示を出すので、授業の予習を完全に行うこと。重要な語彙、イディオム、文法、構文等の復習を行うこと。課題は提出期日厳守。課題は、具体的には、レポート、演習問題などの形で宿題として出題される。（遅延した場合は、受け付けない。）毎週の本授業の準備学習（平均100分以上）、および毎週の復習時間（平均100分以上）は、合わせて平均200分間以上を標準とします。使用するソフトウエアは、リアルタイム（ライブ）での授業では数回ZOOMソフト、課題は法政HOPPIIを利用するので予めインストールを行い、使い方について精通しておくこと。
I will give clear instructions by each previous week, such as reading materials on a particular industry, so we will complete the lesson for classes. Please review important vocabulary, idiom, grammar, syntax, etc. The assignment is strictly adhered to the submission date. The assignment is specifically counted, as a homework in the form of reports, exercises, etc. (If you are delayed, it will not be accepted.) Weekly preparation of learning (an average of 100 minutes or longer) and weekly review time (also an average of 100 minutes or longer) will be the total average of 200 minutes or more. 成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
①授業に対する積極的な貢献：35％、②課題等：25％、③学期 最終授業内で行われるテスト：40％。(尚、①②③のいずれの項目でも55%以上で、かつ総合的に6割以上の成績を得ることがこの単位の取得に最低必要。特に①において出席は100%が原則で、①は十分な予習・復習、発言、受講態度、リーダーシップ等の授業への積極的な貢献を意味する。なお、欠席はいかなる理由であろうと出席扱いには出来ない。全出席が前提となっているため、欠席は1回につき、全体の得点から7%づつ減点する。25分間以上の遅刻や早退は欠席扱いとなる。）
追加試験・再試験は行なわない。

発表やプレゼンテーションの様子は、クラス内にて録画・再生を行う場合がある。良い点・改善すべき点などにつき講師がフィードバックを行う。
