Outline (in English)
【Course outline】 This class aims to provide students with a global view to see the world today through BBC English news.
【Learning Objectives】 The view of this class it to improve English proficiency, mainly listening skill of students, along with improving reading skills and critical thinking.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】 Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter from the text.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】 The final grade in the class will be decided based on the following :
Term-end examination: 50%、Performance and Contribution in class : 50%

BBC放送の世界のニュースを通してReading, Listening, Speaking, Writingのバランスのとれた効果的な学習を目指す。併せて時事的なテーマに基づいた最新の英文記事を通して、英語の読解力を養う。
到達目標Goal
21世紀の変容する世界をどう読み解くか、という視点に立つ英文とじっくり向き合うことで、英語力に加え、時事問題への関心、論理的な思考力、さらには社会的、文化的背景への深い洞察力も磨きたい。

ニュース英語をListening, Intensive ReadingとExtensive Readingで読み進めていく。音声面も重視し、音読を実践しながら大意要約や速読のスキルアップを目指す。
リアクションペーパーや課題等については、主に翌週の授業内でフィードバックや正解の提示、解説を行う。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
平常点(50%)と学期末試験(50%)をあわせて総合評価。
平常点（授業への真摯な取り組み、貢献度）を重視。
授業回数の3分の1以上欠席した場合、学期末試験の受験資格を失います。
