Outline (in English)
【Outline 】
This course is designed to help students overcome their fear of speaking English in front of others, acquire the ability to express themselves calmly and naturally, and acquire the ability to communicate in a way that is easy for listeners to understand.
【Learning Objectives】
1. Learn the structure of English reading.
2. Improve reading fluency.
3. Learn how to express English with ease.
4. Gain the ability to develop ideas
5. Learn how to read and write different genres of writing.
6. Learn how to discuss and relate to different topics.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
・Look through the contents ahead.
・Prepare for in-class discussions.
・Prepare for writing assignments, presentations, etc.
・Memorize the words of the completed units (there could be quizzes.).
・The standard preparation and review time for this class is one hour in total.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Class activities, quizzes, etc. 20%.
Assignments (writing mini-presentations) 30%.
Final exam 50%.

人前で英語を話すことへの苦手意識を克服し、自然体であがらずに、落ち着いて自己表現できる英語力を身につけることを目ざすとともに、 筋道を立て、聞き手にわかりやすく伝えるコミュニケーション能力を身に付けることを目的としたアクティブな演習形式の授業である。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
課題のmini-presentationに関しては、英語の間違いというよりも、授業の内容を理解して条件に沿ったものになっているかを重視します。
平常点（授業内での活動状況、小テストなど） ２０％
課題（mini-presentation など) ３０％
期末テスト ５０％
Class activities, quizzes, etc. 20%.
