Outline (in English)

Course outline:
This course aims to learn the logical thinking, logical writing, and presentation and to read English articles in economics.

Learning objective:
Students should be able to find an issue, think about it logically, obtain a result on it, write them as a report paper, and make a presentation. In addition, students become used to reading economic documents in English and understand economic words.

Leaning activities outside of classroom:
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand course contents and basic concepts of economics.

Grading criteria/policies:
Final grade will be calculated by presentation and comments on the other presentations 40% + a report paper 30% + term-end exam 30% = 100%.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives

この入門ゼミでは、大学生として必要な論理的な思考とそれに基づいたレポートの書き方、プレゼンテーション(報告)の仕方、経済で使われる英語を読む力を習得することを目標とします。これらの中で登場する経済学の概念も身につけます。

到達目標Goal

自分で問題を立てて、それについて論理的に考えて結論を得て、それらをレポートの文章にまとめられるようになることと、ハンドアウトを作成して、わかりやすくプレゼンテーションをできるようになることが目標です。また、経済分野の英文に慣れることと、そこに書かれている経済の基本的な言葉を理解することが目標です。

この授業はすべて対面で実施します。図書館利用の仕方やプレゼンテーションの準備と報告の仕方について講義します。その後、毎回、授業の前半で自分で決めたテーマについて各履修者に報告してもらいます。1人1回の報告です。授業の後半は、英文の輪読とそこに登場する経済学の概念の学習と、レポートの書き方について、少しずつ説明していきます。報告や課題に対するコメント、みなさんからの質問への回答は教室で直接私が伝えます。
