Outline (in English)

Students will learn basics of programming in the Java language with the view of constructing information systems. The goal of this course especially includes acquiring the knowledge of the basic syntax of Java, the foundation of object-oriented programming, and technology for constructing concrete information systems. The students are expected to spend typically 8 hours for preparation, review, and assignments for each class meeting. Grading will be decided based on assignments (30%), the final examination (60%), and in-class contribution (10%).
