Outline (in English)

The purpose of this course is to learn the fundamentals of computational physics through Simulation techniques and understandings of the calculated results utilizing your investigation and contribution. Participants can experience simulation and analysis methods based on the principles of science. As an introduction to computational physics, you will choose a topic from the fields that interest you, such as mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, fluid mechanics, and optics with the help of the instructor.

In this class, we will start with a survey of computer simulation methods, We will create simple programs or improve them to perform small-scale simulations and estimates of physical quantities. The participants will also experience processing and visualization of the obtained results and are required
to submit a progress report each time to confirm their understanding of the computational methods. An explanation will be given according to the level of understanding and importance of their reports and methods. Participants will be
expected to spend more than four hours for a class.

Grating will be decided based on the grades for reports (50%), presentations, and in-class contributions (50%).
