[Course Outline]
Participants in this class will learn how to approach business and trends covering several global enterprises in articles of foreign media.
[Learning Objectives]
Currently, regardless of the field (workplace, occupation, region, etc.), it is often required to have comprehensive English proficiency. This course is designed to meet the objectives of those who wish to study abroad and the success of various examinations. This class also fits the needs of those who want the opportunity to discuss business and economic topics in English.

[Challenges of Global Enterprises]
当授業では、いくつかの世界的企業を取り上げ、海外メディアの記事を通してビジネスへの取り組み方や動向を学習する。授業中の言語は、和訳を行う時間帯を除き、できうる限り英語としたい。In this class, we will cover some global companies and learn about business approaches and trends through articles in overseas media. Let us try to communicate in English during class.

到達目標Goal
現在、どのような領域（職場、職種、地域等）において活動するにせよ、英語の総合的運用力を求められることが多い。本授業が、受講者の英語による運用能力を向上させ、結果として長、短期の留学や各種検定試験の成功へと結びつくこと(英検準１級程度）を目指す。Currently, regardless of the field (workplace, occupation, region, etc.), it is often required to have comprehensive English proficiency. 指定教科書および配布プリントを使用し、日本語訳出、英語による発表・討論等を通し授業を進める。教科書の１章分をおよそ3回の授業で終了する。授業では日本語へ訳出する場合を除き、英語、日本語両言語を用いて行う予定である。We will try to use English during class except for the translation time. Students will be expected not only to acquire business vocabulary and expressions, but to discuss business topics from a variety of kinds of English media as well. Special emphasis will be given to communicative English skills necessary for active discussion.

授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
各英文記事の日本語訳出、英語によるグループディスカッションのための準備を毎回確実に行うこと。学習支援システムに、随時、必要情報を掲載するので参照すること。本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2時間を標準とする。Students are expected to make elaborate preparations for vocabulary, listening practice and discussion for each class at home to enhance their participation in classroom discussions. 2 hours of preparation time is expected.

ビジネスや経済を扱う新聞、雑誌等の英語参考文献は数多い。必要に応じて学習支援システムに文献リストを掲載する。Pay attention, on a frequent basis, to the Learning Management System (LMS) that includes a reference list.
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
平常点 (発表、用語テスト)50％、学期末筆記試験50％ (原則的に筆記試験とするが、状況により口述試験）をもって評価する。Contributions to class activities : presentation, words & phrases test (50%), in-class exam : No references available (50%)
