Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
Basics of accounting are necessary for us living in modern economy. The goal of this course is to understand the fundamentals of accounting (especially, financial accounting). Particularly, we will learn the accounting methods, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
(Learning Objectives)
Students will learn fundamentals of accounting and financial reporting. These are necessary for businessperson to understand financial statements. Students also will be able to analyze operations of companies.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before each class, students are expected to download materials provided via the Hoppii and read the indicated pages of the textbook. (2 hours)
Students are advised to read news with an interest in recent economic trends in particular, and to focus on news regarding accounting. (2 hours)
(Grading Criteria/Policy)
Final grades will be calculated as follows:
- Mid-term Report: 30%
- Final Examination: 70%
