Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
In this seminar, we will conduct research on important themes such as working time regulation, wages, dismissal, annual paid leave, gender employment equality, work-life balance. Also, we will study about some new problems which has become important issues of labor law in recent years . Last year, we considered LGBTQ and disciplinary action. We also plan to consider pandemics and labor this year. By conducting the above examination, eacquire the basic knowledge of Labor Law and make active discussions based on that knowlege,including comparative legal review.

(Learning Objectives)
Students should be able to point out problems, examine academic theories and precedents, and draw conclusions about the problems of a topic of interest. In addition, when discussing precedents, students should be able to decipher the framework of legal judgments, the position of precedents in related precedents, and the range of the precedents discussed. In addition, students will be able to prepare a resume, give an easy-to-understand report, answer questions, and moderate a discussion.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Prep time for the reporter group
Reporters will review case law, research relevant articles, conduct sub-seminars, prepare resumes, report, and answer questions. Presenters will need about 10 hours of study for this preparation.

For seminar students who are not in the rapporteur group
Seminar students will read the precedents to be discussed in the seminar and summarize the facts and main points of the precedents. The seminar students will read the case reviews and prepare questions.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
The content of the report, questions and answers, assignments related to the report, active participation in discussions, and contributions to the management of the seminar will be comprehensively evaluated.
100% of the evaluation will be based on ordinary points, not on examinations.
