In our society, many people live by being employed, working, and earning wages. However, working is not the only part of life. In addition to working, we need support to live a "rich and humane life. Social policy is a system of policies to realize these goals.
In the "Social Policy" course, the main subject is the theory of labor-management relations in the area of "social policy" in academia. As a prerequisite for considering contemporary issues, we will examine how employment practices in Japan and the U.S. have developed over the course of history.

Learning Objectives
The two goals of the course are as follows.
(1) To understand the specialized knowledge of the issues surrounding labor-management relations theory.
(2) To be able to understand the history of the formation of labor-management relations theory and analyze the issues from multiple perspectives.

Students are required to read the handouts and reference materials distributed in advance.
