Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
This class develops student's basic English skills not for translation, but for comprehend English texts. To be familiar with academic terms, forms of journal papers, expressions of psychology in English, and utilize them to one's own study.
【Learning Objectives】
Through this course, students grow fundamental ability to comprehend English Psychological literature.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
All students will be expected to have read the relevant part of the text before each class, and to write a short report after each class. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Short reports in each time: 60%
Japanese translation of one's part of text and in-class Presentation : 40%

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
いわゆる英文和訳ではなく、テキストの内容を理解するための基礎を身につけることを目標とする。英語による心理学専門用語や論文の形式、表現に慣れ、英語文献を理解し、自らの学習に生かすための基礎力を身につけることを目標とする。
到達目標Goal
英語による心理学文献を理解するための基礎的読解力を養う。

リーディング教材に関する質問について、意見を出し合ったり、クラス全体で議論、確認したりする演習型の授業を行う。
授業の初めに、前回の授業で提出された授業内課題の中からいくつかを取り上げ、全体に対してフィードバックを行う。

出されたリーディング、ライティング課題は、必ず締め切りまでにやって、遅れずに提出する。本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2時間を標準とします。
