Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In today's rapidly diversifying and aging society, we need to be sensible citizens, who understand our country's history and culture, have a broad perspective, and can coexist with others who have different values and ways of thinking from our own. The purpose of this course is to learn research-based psychological solutions to various social problems that modern society is facing such as energy consumption, family issues, risk management at schools, communication, and cross-cultural understanding.

【Learning Objectives】
At the end of the course, students should be able to discuss, in their own words, the research-based psychological solutions to today's social issues covered in this class.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students are expected to 1) read the materials distributed in class, 2) search and read relevant papers and articles, and 3) write and submit reports. 2 hours of study per class is expected.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Final grade in this class will be decided based on the total score of five reports (20% x 5 = 100%).
