Outline (in English)

[Course outline] This course addresses micro-scale biological phenomena, with a particular focus on the molecular and cellular scales. In addition, medical applications and biotechnologies will also be covered and their relevance to our lives will be considered.
[Learning objectives] Objectives of the course are: to acquire basic understanding of molecular and cellular biology; and to acquire foundation for understanding/analyzing the state of technology in applied fields.
[Learning activities outside of classroom] There will be weekly assignments. Students are expected to spend two hours each for preparation and review.
[Grading criteria/policy] Student performance will be evaluated on the basis of class participation and in-class performance.
