Outline (in English)

Topography is the most basal structure of environments. Topographic evolution has occurred according to global climatic change and regional tectonic movement since the middle Pleistocene. Outline of this class is to learn geomorphic evolution.
Objectives of this class is to realize the geo-surface is phenomena of 3D by topographic maps and interpretation of aerial photos.
Learning activities outside of the class room will be done in the down town area of Tokyo on a specific Saturday, in May or June.
Presentation of a study reporton a specific region where each student is interested in and chooses to deepen its understanding at the final stage of this class.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Grading policy is according to understanding level of geomorphic evolution based on results of subjects given at each class including the field study report and the presentation. The weighting ratio of the grading is 60% for the reports and 40% for the presentation, respectively. More than 60% of the total score is required to pass in this class.
