Outline (in English)

Australia is considered one of the most beautiful and comfortable countries in the world. Australia has a strong impression of being "a generous and prosperous country blessed with a warm climate, abundant agricultural and mineral resources, and cheerful and friendly Aussie people," but until the mid-1970s, Australia was a completely different country with a White Australia policy that did not accept Asian immigrants. Australia's path to a "honeymoon relationship" with Japan was by no means smooth. In this lecture, we will approach the real face of Australia from diverse perspectives, such as, including its natural environment, history, cultural background, economic situation, and role in international society, and so on.

Goal
1. Students will be able to explain the nature, history, and cultural characteristics of Australia.
2. Students will be able to explain changes in the diplomatic stance of Australia between the time of the beginning and today.
3. Students will be able to explain the urban social problems in Australia by giving some concrete examples.
