Outline (in English)

This course deals with the problems of historical consciousness in Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC), especially in Poland, after the Cold War. Students are expected to learn about such topics as collective memory of communist past in CEEC, transitional justice in CEEC, and politics of memory in CEEC.
Before and/or after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content. Grading will be decided based on term-end examination (60%) and in-class contribution (40%).
